About the Role
This role will join a team of researchers in developing new formulations of protective and anti-corrosion coatings for metals. We support long-term federal research contracts in aerospace and ground vehicle support.
Responsibilities
Conduct protective coating formulation, testing, and corrosion evaluation
Formulate and test coatings for customer trials and R&D projects
Maintain a safe and clean lab environment consistent with existing Elinor Safety Office protocols
Participate in scientific meetings
Generate, document, and report data and technical progress to internal and external stakeholders
Requirements
B.S. in polymers and coatings, chemistry, or closely related fields
2+ years of experience in a laboratory environment
Demonstrated experience with:
Coatings formulations, characterization, and testing
Corrosion protection, corrosion inhibition and electrochemical testing.
Common coatings laboratory instrumentation
Word processing, spreadsheets, scheduling, and data analysis software.
Communication and writing skills to enable working with multi-disciplinary
