Elinor Coatings Welcomes Michelle Pierre as New Director of Aurora Center for Extreme Weather Materials

February 17, 2026 – Fargo, ND – Elinor Coatings is excited to announce the appointment of Michelle Pierre as the new Director of Aurora Center for Extreme Weather Materials, a division of Elinor Coatings, effective January 2026.

Michelle Pierre brings extensive experience in materials engineering and technical leadership to Aurora. She is a recognized authority in corrosion, materials compatibility, flammability, and oxygen systems for human-rated spacecraft and ground support equipment. Throughout her career, Michelle has led qualification programs, failure investigations, and risk-reduction efforts across NASA’s Kennedy Space Center and Blue Origin, supporting missions from the International Space Station to lunar landers.


Her work focuses on translating complex materials risks into clear, actionable engineering decisions, ensuring safety and reliability in some of the most demanding environments. This expertise will be instrumental in advancing Aurora’s mission to deliver ASTM-certified testing and innovative solutions for industries facing extreme weather and temperature challenges.
