2027 Student Poster Session

The Aurora Cold Weather Readiness summit is a three-day event is packed with presentations and engaging activities centered around three critical themes: Cold & Icing, Corrosion, and Concealment and Camouflage. Through a dynamic mix of technical sessions, roundtable discussions, and cross-sector networking opportunities, the event showcases the resilience, ingenuity, and collaboration required to operate in some of the world’s most extreme environments.

Elinor Coatings invites college students to participate in the 2027 Student Poster Session. The session will take place during the Aurora Cold Weather Readiness Summit, held February 2–4, 2027, in Fargo, North Dakota. This is an opportunity for students to showcase innovative solutions addressing challenges related to “Cold and Icing.” The theme encourages exploration through scientific, environmental, and technological perspectives, aiming to enhance life and operational efficiency in cold climates.

Eligibility:
  • Open to all currently enrolled college-level students (2026–27 academic year).

  • Individual submissions only; one abstract per student.

  • Registration is free.

Abstract Requirements:
  • Submit a maximum 300-word abstract outlining:

    • Background/Context – The problem or challenge related to cold and icing.

    • Objective – Purpose of your work.

    • Methods/Approach – Research methodology or technology used.

    • Key Findings or Expected Outcomes – Results or anticipated impact.

    • Relevance to Theme – Clear connection to “Cold and Icing.”

  • Abstracts must be submitted online via the official portal (link provided in submission instructions).

  • Deadline: October 1, 2026, at 11:59 PM CST (firm deadline). Late submissions will not be considered.

Submission Confirmation:

Students will receive an email confirmation upon successful submission. If confirmation is not received within 48 hours, contact social@elinorcoatings.com with proof of timely submission.

Review Process:

Abstracts will be evaluated by a professional panel consisting of academic, industry, and organizational representatives using the official Abstract Scorecard. Ten abstracts will be selected for poster presentation at the summit.

Notification & Next Steps:
  • Notification of Top 10: Mid-November 2026.

  • Selected students must submit a digital poster (PDF) and one-slide summary by December 31, 2026.

  • Finalists will present their posters and give a 2–3-minute oral summary during the summit.

Awards:
  • First Place: $1,000

  • Second Place: $500

  • Third Place: $250

  • Notification of Top 10: Mid-November 2026

  • Poster & Slide Submission: December 31, 2026

  • Summit: February 2–4, 2027
